Move By Design – Principal Partner for Harbour Hospice Awareness Month

Move By Design is proud to announce that we’re a Principal Partner of Harbour Hospice Awareness Month during May.

Supporting hospice has special meaning for me with both my mum and sister receiving in-home palliative care in the last 24 months.

We believe the work hospice does is nothing short of angelic.

We’re on a mission to raise $5,000 for Harbour Hospice

We’ve got an ambitious goal of raising $5,000 during the month of May.

So how will we raise money for Harbour Hospice?

As a Principal Partner, here’s how Move By Design is helping to support Harbour Hospice:

For every booking we receive during May, we’ll donate $1,000.

Just to clarify, this is a booking, not a move. You could be moving any time this year!

The best part? We only need 5 bookings to meet our target and we’re extending our service offering during May to include services other than our usual Full Service moving.

Why we’re supporting Harbour Hospice

Harbour Hospice currently support 1 in 3 people who die in our community and the number of people they care for, along with the complexity of illnesses, is growing rapidly. 

Harbour Hospice Awareness Month runs from 1 to 31 May with local businesses and supermarkets standing alongside us in support of our vital work. Chief Executive, Amanda Fowler, says Harbour Hospice has always been humbled by the generosity of its community, and that support has never been more important than it is now.

“The health sector is under immense pressure and hospices nationally are facing significant financial strain. We see the profound impact hospice has on the lives of our community every day, and we need continued support to ensure we’re here long into the future,” Fowler says.

“Everyone deserves to live well until they die, with this campaign seeking to show the often unseen work of our exceptional teams. When a patient needs us, we pick up the phone any time of the day or night. And when a loved one is scared or feeling alone, hospice is there to wrap around them too.”

Lots of local businesses will be showing their support across the month. Harbour Hospice shops will also be inviting you to add an extra dollar to your purchase. Every dollar you give online during Harbour Hospice Awareness Month will be matched by our Principal Partners: Mason Containers, Move by Design, Diamond Fusion & Northland Waste.

Please support today, so they can continue to care for patients, their families and whānau when they need it most.

I’m Clare Gregory-Jones, owner of Move by Design. My journey to becoming a professional move manager has been some 40 years in the making. My family has owned successful furniture removal businesses since the 1970s. My father was Harrods trained and dedicated his working life to the moving industry, whilst my brother built strong ties with real estate agents and solicitors to become a preferred and trusted supplier for estate related moving. It’s this background that provided part of the foundation for creating Move by Design. However, I also bring my own experience. I’ve moved home some 9 times in the past 18 years, including moving to New Zealand from the UK almost 20 years ago.
